Blog About it!
For the time being, I am going to use this Blog as a way to share classroom news. Enjoy!
Today, my high school math students and I decided that we didn't want to hand homework in for a grade in the usual way. Instead, I challenged my students to utilize the assignment submission form located at the bottom of the Home page of this website. We first made a plan to share devices in order to ensure that all students had access to a device, then we took a picture of each of our completed HW assignments, uploaded our saved document picture, submitted our assignment, and finally we journaled about our new skill we practiced in class! Way to Share!
I am so proud of our students. Some people get very overwhelmed with change, but our students are meeting this change head on. Students are becoming more and more comfortable with these new programs and they learning to better advocate for themselves! Students are making plans to come in and use my devices in order to complete the Socrative Quizzes! We are really on a ROLL!
Today, my students and I practiced using new features on this website. We watched a video on writing linear equations (the video is me teaching a mini lesson; check it out under the math 8 tab on this website!). This allowed me to walk around helping students while the recorded version of myself taught the mini lesson.
This week, we started our virtual adventure in my Math 8 and Algebra 1A classes! The students were very interested in hearing all about what my math class will look like in the very near future.
